Sanctuary Salon & Head Spa is a community-supported, education-focused salon in Cornelius, NC, near Lake Norman. We’re a team of artists who believe beautiful hair is only part of the experience. The rest is how you feel when you walk out the door. Every guest is matched with their own beauty tribe: a lead stylist plus co-stylists who work on your hair together, so you’re cared for like the only one in the room.

Bettina’s journey began in 1999 in massage therapy school — where she learned the lesson that still guides everything at Sanctuary: true luxury isn’t the service you provide, it’s how you make people feel. That belief carried her into cosmetology, and more than two decades later she’s a licensed North Carolina cosmetologist with a passion that hasn’t dimmed.
She has spent those years in continuous education — cutting, color, blonding, curly hair, extensions, leadership, and guest experience — learning from many of the industry’s top educators and blending the strongest of each into an approach customized for every individual guest. Curly hair is one of her greatest passions: rather than following a single system, she built her own by combining proven methods with years of hands-on experience, because no two curl patterns — or people — are alike. It’s the same philosophy she teaches every stylist at Sanctuary.
Education, to Bettina, has never been about collecting certificates. It’s about continually becoming better for the people who trust us with their hair — a commitment woven into the culture of the salon, where learning never stops and excellence is always the standard.
